Defensive driving is a tried and tested method specifically designed to prevent accidents. It ensures that nothing is left to chance and nothing is overlooked.Trainees are taught how to create a ‘ safety cushion’ around their vehicles when driving in traffic and to have enough time and space to think and react to dangers which may pose a threat to their own safety or other road users. Furthermore, how to recognise and deal with road hazards and the mistakes of other road users.

OUR GOAL

To ensure better and safer drivers on the road, through observation and foresight to eliminate and prevent dangerous situations.
The emphasis is on safety and awareness.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Literacy
Drivers License
1 year driving experience.
All training done in trainees own vehicle.

COURSE 1- ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATE

DAY 1 – MORNING
Accident prevention
The s.i.p.d.e process
Defensive driving theory

DURATION 3 HOURS

DAY 1 – AFTERNOON

DEFENSIVE DRIVING ON THE ROAD

1.  Practical and commentary driving.
2.  Trainees receive individual in vehicle instructions on the road in the application of defensive driving techniques.
3.  Emergency stop and lane change demonstrated on the road.

COURSE 2 –  CERTIFICATE OF PROFICIENCY

DAY 1 – MORNING

The SIPDE process
Defensive driving theory

DURATION 3 Hours

DAY 2 – 1 WEEK LATER

1.  Practical and commentary driving.
2.  Trainees receive individual in vehicle instructions on the road in the application of defensive driving techniques.
3.  Emergency stop and lane change demonstrated on the road.

ALL TRAINEES WILL BE PROVIDED WITH A COMPREHENSIVE MODULE FOR THEM TO STUDY PRIOR TO FINAL TEST

DAY 3- 2 WEEKS LATER ‘FINAL TEST
DURATION 1 HOUR.

During the final test the candidates performance is evaluated and measured.  If successful, will be issued with a Certificate of Proficiency which is valid for 2 years
